Declaration to Highlight the WFC Ethical Principles

In Manilla the WFC made the following declaration to highlight its ethical principles:

The WFC reaffirms its commitment and vision to develop franchising globally in an ethical manner.

This is driven by a collective recognition of the need for transparency, fair business practices, and social responsibility within the franchise industry and specially between its members.

It is important to emphasize that WFC accepts and recognizes only one association as a representative member of each country, and its members must, therefore, always act collaboratively, mutually respecting each other, in particular the actions of each association locally.

Thus, WFC establishes that, when an Association considers operating in territories where its members already exist and operate, the current local member must be consulted in advance and the action must be developed preferably through these local members, because without this cooperation share of best practices and sharing crucial information won’t be possible.
